CHIEF DATA OFFICER

Role Description

The Chief Data Officer owns the data, governance and analytics for the ecosystem platforms. The chief data officer is an executor and the visionary force behind the cross-ecosystem analytics solutions, data governance, data standards and advanced analytics innovations

Responsibilities

  • Work with ecosystem platform CEOs to define vision, target opportunities enabled by analytics and enterprise data & analytics strategy including:
  • Analytics use cases with quantified business cases and milestones (e.g., lending, cross-sell, deepening)
  • Roadmap to deliver the use cases against milestones
  • Building the right analytics models to support these use cases (in timely model performance assessment quality control)
  • Designing the campaigns to deploy these use cases
  • Putting in place the tracking mechanisms
  • New business models/opportunities for partnerships
  • Work with ecosystem platform teams to define the overall data architecture and target operating model (TOM)
  • Define and build the data & analytics team (e.g. date scientists, translator)
  • Align and produce business intelligence reports for the ecosystem platforms
  • Provide advisory services to ecosystem platforms on prioritization and requirements as needed
  • Define and agree on governance model for data and analytics across the group and ecosystem platforms (e.g., flow of data, masking, decision making, adherence to regulations)
  • Define data & analytics standards (e.g., data quality norms, workflows, data meta model, analytics protocols, data lake, security, SLAs)
  • Lead data & analytics innovation through collaboration with all relevant stakeholders
  • Engage with external stakeholders as needed to fully promote data & analytics vision of the organization

Key Skills

Domain Expertise

  • 10-15 years of experience, including:
    • Analytics experience in a leadership role
    • Data management role (5+ years)
  • Good understanding of analytics techniques (although deep expertise of each of the techniques is not essential)
  • Ability to translate business requirements into advanced analytics language (e.g., guiding the team to define data requirements)
  • Good understanding of the industry

Analytics Experience

  • Record of building capabilities within large organizations (e.g. analytics center of excellence, Analytics Training Academy and analytics/ data governance bodies)
  • Strong record of delivering analytics programs
  • Experience in Agile Development

Individual Skills

  • Strong stakeholder and change management skills including with business and IT
  • Strong communication skills with ability to align the organization on complex technical decisions
  • Active coach and mentor whose goals are to grow and maximize the team’s potential
