Chief Digital Marketing Officer

Role Description

Chief Digital Marketing Officer (CDMO) is responsible for the whole of online and offline (brand) marketing and communication for the ecosystem platforms. CDMO will design, implement and monitor effective marketing strategies that align with ecosystem strategy and vision. The CDMO will work closely with the rest of the ecosystem leadership team, will oversee internal Marketing teams, and play a significant role shaping the strategic planning.


  • Develop online and offline brand marketing strategy in coordination with overall marketing strategy for the ecosystem platforms
  • Planning digital marketing campaigns, including web, SEO/SEM, email, social media and display advertising
  • Maintaining social media presence across all digital channels
  • Measuring and reporting on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns
  • Lead NB and multivariate experiments
  • Review and fine tune marketing and customer acquisition strategy
  • Plan budget and actions for the marketing plan
  • Prepare and discuss media and creation concepts or ideas • Project portfolio management as well as budget management &invoice controlling
  • Efficiency controlling and optimization (online marketing reporting)
  • Reporting and decision-support materials for top management

Key Skills

Domain Expertise

  • MBA from a reputed university is preferred, with focus in marketing
  • 10-15 years of experience in a management role at start-up, agency or in marketing or corporate communication at an international company, ideally in an online environment
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Expert knowledge of digital marketing principles such as funnel optimization UX, SEO & Landing Page optimization & experience in running NB tests for campaigns and deriving customer insights a major plus

Agile/Digital Experience

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Prior leadership experience in a Digital Marketing team

Individual Skills

  • Deep knowledge of developing a brand marketing strategy
  • High online, social media, and media affinity (incl. video / photo)
  • Outstanding communication skills; high level of creativity, independence. and ability to project confidence
